Mahershala Ali Cast As The MCU's Blade

Watch out MCU fans, the worlds favorite blood sucking hero is back. Marvel Studios has announced that Oscar -winning actor Mahershala Ali has been casted as the next Blade. The surprising announcement was made during the Hall H panel at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. Blade has been out of the spot-light for some years now, but it looks like the half human, half vampire is coming back the big screen. The role was originally played by Wesley Snipes in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. Snipes received critically acclaimed reviews as the Day Walker in all 3 Blade movies. Despite having conflict with directors and producers during the filming of Blade in the past, Snipes has stated multiple time that if a reboot was made, he would be honored to play the character again in the MCU. Marvel acquired the rights to Blade a few years ago and up until now, there has not been any update on the trilogy. There has not been an official release date or start of production from Marvel yet. But for now, the news of former Luke Cage Villain Mahershala Ali playing Blade is a beautiful addition to the Marvel Universe.
